Description: Cartagena’s windy season starts late December and ends around mid-April. During those months the wind speed average is 18 kts. This is a mid-ability to advances spot with flat-shallow water section and a section with waves. The flat water area has a wind shadow caused by the buildings, it is the side where the most advanced riders like to ride to throw tricks. Launching your kite could be a little bit tricky but there is enough room to launch. Although the wind angle is a little bit offshore you can easily come back to shore. There still having chances of being dragged downwind. The worst case scenario, you will be rescued by the wave runner renters or fish boats (they may charge you around 20 dollars though). We strongly recommend asking the locals before launching your kite.
This spot is picturesque in all directions. Access is easy. This spot is located in one of the best neighborhoods in town. There are no public bathrooms but there are several restaurants and shops.
